This is my first creative venture, after spending the previous 20 years as legal counsel in government, corporate, and the private sectors, although some people would say that legal work is simply a different kind of creativity! I've been involved in art & craft activity for as long as I can remember, however, and was even the sole attorney participating in the holiday craft bazaar at my first law firm!
I began digital crafting in the late 1990's, I think, though I don't know if I can trace it to an exact date. I started digital scrapbooking in the winter of 2005. I actually was looking at the digital scrapbooking sites for papers for digital crafting, and I tried to resist the urge to scrapbook for a long time, but eventually gave in. I just didn't want to get involved in yet another activity! I still mostly digicraft, but I like scrapping occasionally, too, as an art form.
I'm also a wife, mother of 3 boys (ages 6, 7 1/2, and 12), soccer mom to all 3 boys, Scout Leader, and loving "mom" to 2 frisky cocker spaniels. We keep very busy at our house!
My graphics program of choice is Digital Image Suite, but I also use Paint Shop Pro for certain things. One of these days, I'll venture into the Photoshop family of programs, but there is still so much to learn in DIP. I'd like to take some courses to improve my self-taught skills, but all of my computer skills have been self-taught, and I doubt that will change anytime soon. I seem to learn best by playing and pushing myself to experiment with the capabilities of a program.
I'm excited to be a part of Olivia & Co, and look forward to working with everyone!
